SSeeSY Stainless Steel Jewelry Passes California Proposition 65 (CA65) Test — Lead & Cadmium Free, Premium Quality for US Sales
SSeeSY Stainless Steel Jewelry Passes California Proposition 65 (CA65) Test — Lead & Cadmium Free, Premium Quality for US Sales
Jewelry touches your skin all day, every day — so what is inside the metal matters as much as how it shines. To prove that SSeeSY stainless steel jewelry is safe for long-term skin contact, we sent finished rings to an independent third-party laboratory for California Proposition 65 (CA65) testing of lead and cadmium. Both heavy metals came back not detected. This page explains the test, shows the evidence, and gives you the full report and Declaration of Conformity to download.
SSeeSY stainless steel jewelry has officially passed the California Proposition 65 (CA65) test for lead and cadmium — free of harmful heavy metals, premium quality for US sales. Proposition 65 is one of the strictest chemical-safety regulations in the United States, and meeting its requirements for long-term skin contact is exactly what a jewelry brand needs before selling into the US market.
The tested samples were finished rings produced on SSeeSY’s own lines by Dongguan Songshan Trading Company Limited. Total lead (Pb) and total cadmium (Cd) were both reported as N.D. (Not Detected) — below even the laboratory’s method detection limits, and far below the thresholds that trigger Proposition 65 warnings.
This is the latest page in SSeeSY’s quality paper trail: our partner factory passed on-site SGS audits in 2025, and the same stainless steel has passed a 72-hour ASTM G85 salt spray test with zero corrosion. Safety, durability and factory discipline — all documented, all downloadable.

One of the Strictest Skin-Contact Safety Standards in the US
California Proposition 65 — known in the industry as CA65 — requires businesses to prove their products stay below strict exposure thresholds for chemicals that can harm health, including the heavy metals most relevant to jewelry: lead and cadmium.
Because jewelry is worn against the skin for hours at a time — through sweat, friction and heat — regulators treat it as a long-term skin-contact product. If lead or cadmium can leach from cheap alloys or plating, repeated daily exposure adds up. That is why major US retailers and marketplace platforms increasingly ask jewelry suppliers for CA65 test reports before listing products.
In this test, GST’s chemists digested the metal substrate of the ring sample and analyzed it with atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS) — the reference method for heavy-metal content. Lead was tested per CPSC-CH-E1001-08.3 with a limit of 100 mg/kg; cadmium per EPA 3050B:1996 with a limit of 300 mg/kg. Both elements came back below even the method detection limits.
N.D. = Not Detected (< MDL, Method Detection Limit). mg/kg = milligram per kilogram.

What a CA65 Pass Means for Your Brand
If you sell jewelry in the United States — especially through retail chains or online marketplaces — CA65 documentation is not optional. It is one of the first compliance files buyers ask for.
Selling jewelry without Proposition 65 documentation exposes a brand to warning-label obligations and potential lawsuits under California law — a risk that has made CA65 reports a standard gate in US jewelry sourcing. When you work with SSeeSY, that gate is already open: the test report and Declaration of Conformity above are issued in the name of our legal entity, ready to be attached to your product compliance file.
Combined with our verified factory audits and the 72-hour salt spray pass, your products arrive with three layers of third-party proof: who made them, how long they last, and that they are safe to wear.
Why SSeeSY Builds on Stainless Steel
Safe jewelry starts with the right base metal. Stainless steel was chosen as SSeeSY’s core material precisely because it is naturally suited to long-term skin contact.
Unlike low-cost alloys that rely on lead or cadmium to soften the metal for casting, stainless steel is an iron-based alloy engineered for strength and corrosion resistance — it does not need heavy-metal additives to be workable. Our PVD 18K gold plating is then bonded to the surface in a vacuum process, without the chemical legacy issues found in older electroplating systems.
That is why a CA65 pass is not a one-off lucky result for us: it is the expected outcome of a material choice. The same base metal has already proven itself in our salt spray chamber, and every new collection is produced on the same audited lines with the same material standards.
Stainless Steel Jewelry & CA65 Testing FAQ
1. What is CA65 / California Proposition 65?
Proposition 65 is a California law requiring businesses to warn consumers about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. For jewelry, the practical focus is on heavy metals — especially lead and cadmium — that can be released from the metal during long-term skin contact. A CA65 test report proves the product stays below the relevant thresholds.
2. What exactly was tested on SSeeSY jewelry?
Finished rings (golden metal, adult jewelry, made in China) from SSeeSY production were tested for total lead content in the substrate (CPSC-CH-E1001-08.3) and total cadmium content (EPA 3050B:1996), both analyzed by atomic absorption spectrophotometry at GST laboratory.
3. What does “N.D. (Not Detected)” mean?
N.D. means the instrument could not detect the element even at its method detection limit — 10 mg/kg for lead and 5 mg/kg for cadmium in this report. In other words, the content is so low it falls below what the method can measure, far under the 100 mg/kg and 300 mg/kg limits applied in the test.
4. Does this cover all SSeeSY stainless steel jewelry?
The report applies to the tested ring sample, and the DOC is issued for that product category. Because our collections share the same base material, plating process and audited production lines, the result is representative of how the same material system performs — and additional category-specific tests can be arranged for your exact products on request.
5. How can I verify the report?
The complete four-page test report and the one-page Declaration of Conformity can both be downloaded from this page, exactly as issued by GST laboratory. Report number RGST260921082, issue date 30 September 2026, DOC valid until 29 September 2027. Your own third-party re-testing is always welcome.
